Telangana HC Orders Police to Return MLA Kaushik Reddy's Phone

Deccan Chronicle

Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed the police to return a mobilephone that was seized from BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy on December 6. Kaushik Reddy had moved court for the recovery of the mobilephone which he alleged was “forcibly confiscated” by Masab Tank station house officer Parshuram Chukkapally without giving an acknowledgment. The MLA’s counsel informed Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court that 50 police personnel raided Kaushik’s residence at 8 am on December 5. The public prosecutor argued that the phone was seized due to Kaushik Reddy’s "unruly behaviour" at the station and claimed it would undergo forensic analysis, as he was allegedly conspiring against the state.
