Fine those who litter, NTR District Collector tells officials

NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha on Wednesday instructed officials to have localities vulnerable to garbage dumping removed within a week and take strict action against those who litter. After inspecting a landfill at Jaggaiahpeta, along with MLA Sreeram Rajagopal, the District Collector asked officials to enhance surveillance at such points and impose fine on those found littering. He instructed the officials to ensure that the roads in the district are clean, as the government was giving a special focus on making the State ‘Swachh Andhra’. When the MLA informed the District Collector that the public had raised many complaints regarding the landfill at Williampeta, the latter said an alternative place should be selected.
