Coin expo a big draw, display from around 200 countries

Visitors made a beeline to the International Coin Expo 2024 here on Sunday to witness and learn about the rich history of the rare coins and currencies on display. On display were coins and currencies from around 200 countries, including polymer notes from 60 nations, the world’s biggest and smallest denomination currency notes, coins made of different metals and showcasing various themes, as well as gold-and silver-coated notes. I regularly visit coin exhibitions wherever they are organised, purchase rare coins and add them to my collection.” Numismatists from various parts of the country came and set up stalls displaying rare princely state coins, Republic of India coins, as well as Indian paper money ranging from `1 to `2,000 denominations since Independence, including the demonetised currency notes.
