Thoothukudi Corporation floats tender for de-addiction centre at JS Nagar
In an effort to enhance the availability of rehabilitation facilities for de- addiction in Thoothukudi, the Corporation has floated a tender for the establishment of a de-addiction centre at JS Nagar. To further expand the availability of such services, the Thoothukudi Corporation has proposed setting up a new de-addiction centre at an existing structure owned by the civic body in JS Nagar. To ensure an effective service, the Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Thoothukudi Government Medical College and Hospital with additional support from a non-governmental organisation. L. Madhubalan, Commissioner of Thoothukudi Corporation, said that the de-addiction centre would offer training programmes for individuals battling with various forms of addiction.
