Queensland veterinarian heading to Ukraine to help animal victims of war
ABCLachlan Campbell has worked in some intense situations during his 13-year career, but he will enter unchartered territory when he arrives at the Polish-Ukraine border next week. Dr Campbell said there were thousands of animals in need of shelter and treatment in freezing conditions, "coming over with refugees that are lacking food and water and blankets", he said. "Those donations will go will be to medical aid blankets, food, any animal welfare items that are needed directly on the border," he said. Vets carry out rescue missions Dr Campbell said he would be supporting Polish not-for-profit organisation Centrum Adopcyjne "Ada", which is an animal shelter based in Poland. "Yesterday our emergency animal convoy reached few shelters, where we brought some life supporting food for the animals there, and several we also rescued," the post said.
