21 days later, 81 cameras still on sleep mode

Twenty-one days after the Dilsukhnagar terror attack, 81 out of the 350 cameras installed by the City Police in different junctions are still not working. 3,000 cameras Though the government announced that it would install over 3,000 surveillance cameras at public places in the State capital after the twin blasts, not a single new camera has been installed so far. Sanction of funds, government procedures and technicalities would mean it would take some more days for the proposed plan to materialise, officials said. However, the police are persuading private persons owning shops, complexes and malls on trunk routes and commercial localities to install the secret cameras for a better surveillance and improved security network.
