Karnataka Upalokayukta B Veerappa on Monday, said corruption was more dangerous than cancer and cautioned officials that people might revolt against the system if it continued unabated. Government officials get handsome salaries and there was no need to indulge in corruption, he said in his introductory remarks during the two-day public grievances hearing programme organised at the Netravathi Auditorium on the Zilla Panchayat premises here. Mr. Veerappa regretted that there was a system sabotaging government hospitals and schools to favour private institutions. People were yet to get complete justice while government facilities were being usurped by ineligible persons, Mr. Veerappa regretted.
