Rs 4,170 Cr Sanctioned for Underground Drainage in Warangal

Warangal: The Telangana state government on Monday sanctioned Rs 4,170 crore for constructing an underground drainage system within the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation limits in Hanamkonda. The UGD project will be executed in three phases, encompassing the construction of underground drainage and storm water systems, development of water supply networks, rejuvenation of existing water bodies, aquifer management plans, design and implementation of blue-green infrastructure, and the installation of underground ducts to facilitate essential services such as power, telecom, cable, and internet. During a celebratory programme held in Hanamkonda, MLAs, MPs, and party leaders thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy by honouring his efforts to advance the city’s infrastructure. The officials highlighted several ongoing developmental initiatives in the district, noting that the approval of the underground drainage system fulfills the long-held aspiration of Warangal residents.
