Man suffering from headache visits doctor, scans reveal shocking condition
India TodayA 35-year-old man in Vietnam experienced severe headaches for five months, following which he consulted a doctor to find out there were pieces of chopsticks stuck in his skull and brain. According to a report in The Metro, the man went to the hospital on November 25 after suffering from multiple headaches as well as fluid discharge and fluid loss. The doctors conducted CT scans, which revealed that the man was suffering from tension pneumocephalus - a rare but potentially life-threatening neurological condition defined by a dangerous increase in intracranial pressure. The doctors successfully removed the chopsticks through endoscopic surgery via the nose and later sealed the fistula — an abnormal connection between the artery and vein in brain and spinal cord tissue.
