Telangana to Set Up Two New Thermal Power Plants
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has announced that the state government would set up two new thermal power plants — one at Ramagundam and the other near the Naini coal blocks in Odisha. After distributing appointment orders to 314 new assistant engineers and chemists of Genco at an event near the Secretariat, Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the BRS government ignored the power sector during its 10-year rule. “The state also made grand plans to attract domestic and foreign investment to generate an additional 22,448mw of power by 2030, besides generating 20,000 mw of green energy.” Bhatti Vikramarka said the BRS government completely ignored the Naini Coal Block in Odisha. The state government’s advisers Keshava Rao, Shabbir Ali, Energy secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Transco CMD Krishna Bhaskar, Singareni CMD Balram Nayak and GENCO directors took part in the meeting.
