Overruling the California Supreme Court’s finding that it was ‘cruel’ to impose ‘unusual punishments’ when shelter space was lacking in American cities, the SCOTUS also held that laws against the homeless were not violating the Eighth Amendment to the US Constitution. In ‘Trump vs United States’, ruled that the ‘nature of presidential power entitles a former president to absolute immunity for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority.
