Telangana Completes Massive Caste Census Survey: What It Means for Reservations and Social Justice

The “mega health check-up” of society, as Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy referred to the caste census, is an electoral guarantee made by the Congress during the 2023 Assembly election. Frontline spoke to government officials, survey enumerators, Congress leaders, public policy experts, and activists about the data collected, challenges faced, gaps in the survey, and pending matters tied to the availability of caste data.
