GITAM workshop stresses on practical learning of science
GITAM Deemed to be University conducted a workshop ‘Let Us Do Science’, Visakhapatnam Regional Joint Director of Education B.Vijay Bhaskar urged the teachers to inspire students through hands-on experimentation and practical models, making science more engaging and tangible. Indian Association of Physics Teachers president Joga Chandrasekhar Rao highlighted the significance of practical learning, encouraging teachers to promote experimentation and independent discovery rather than relying on rote memorisation. Prof. S. Arun Kumar, Dean, GITAM School of Technology – Computer Science, introduced the use of simulations, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality to safely conduct complex experiments, enhancing interactive learning experiences. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Additional Project Coordinator B. Srinivas spoke about the standards educators must uphold to ensure effective teaching and student motivation.
