Jameis Winston keeps doing the one thing he knows he can’t do
New York TimesTAMPA, Fla. — A four-game Bucs winning streak had shown some of the best of what Jameis Winston can be, but Saturday’s 23-20 loss to the Texans was a harsh reminder of what Winston still can’t stop himself from being. “I can’t turn the football over.” Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston throws his fourth interception of the game during the fourth quarter against the Texans at Raymond James Stadium. “You can’t have that many.” Winston’s 28 interceptions are the most for any quarterback since Brett Favre threw 29 in 2005. We can’t win that way consistently.” It’s Winston’s third game this season with at least four interceptions, and nobody else in the league has more than one such game all year. “We don’t make those decisions until the season is over.” Winston’s interceptions spoiled a dominant game by the Bucs’ defense, which held the Texans to 229 yards of total offense, the lowest total for a team beating the Bucs in five years.
