Australia's debutant Scott Boland will not forget about his astonishing performance in his Test debut as he clinched the series for his side in the third Test of the Ashes in the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday. At lunch on Sunday’s first day of play, Boland received some friendly advice from Australia assistant coach Andrew McDonald to add speed to his run-up. Boland claimed a modest haul of one wicket for 48 in England’s first innings of the third Ashes test, before completing a remarkable debut by taking six wickets for seven runs in England’s second innings and winning the player-of-the-match award. Boland equaled the record for the fastest five-wicket haul in test history, in 19 deliveries, alongside England’s Stuart Broad in 2015 and Australia’s Ernie Toshack in 1947. “It’s really nice to get messages off those guys who were on the tour with us three years ago when we went to England,” Boland said.
