DETROW: Legends like trumpeter Randy Brecker and guitarist John Scofield - it was a bold move, but bold can describe a lot of Benjamin's career. She got three Grammy nominations last year for "Phoenix," and now the gigs are plentiful, including, the other day, one at NPR's Tiny Desk as we celebrate Black Music Month.
