Zack Snyder is back on Netflix with his new film Rebel Moon, but what is it?
ABCRebel Moon is the latest big-budget movie from a big-name director to give most cinemas a miss and head straight to streaming. But Disney baulked at Snyder's pitch for a more adult Star Wars film, featuring all new characters, so the director took his ideas elsewhere. That same year, Snyder directed Army of the Dead, which he described as a "spiritual successor" to his debut film, Dawn of the Dead — a remake itself of the 1978 George Romero zombie classic. Snyder's Army of the Dead was released straight to Netflix and had a budget of about $90 million, but he has coaxed even more money out of the streaming giant for Rebel Moon. Snyder is already talking about another two films to follow Part Two, as well as comics, podcasts, animated short films, and other add-ons to tell the story of his Rebel Moon universe.
