More children test positive for mumps in Alappuzha

The district has reported more mumps cases with at least five school students at Eramalloor and four students at Punnapra testing positive for the disease. Earlier 23 students of Government NS Lower Primary School, Eramalloor contracted the disease. Last week, the outbreak prompted the closure of the Eramalloor school and Government Lower Primary School, Perumbalam South for 21 days. Last month, 33 students at Government JB Lower Primary School, Punnapra, contracted mumps, prompting the school to close for 21 days.
