Rohan Jaitley re-elected as DDCA president, defeats Kirti Azad by massive margin

Seasoned administrator Rohan Jaitley won the Delhi District Cricket Association elections, defeating former India cricketer Kirti Azad. Rohan Jaitley secured 1,577 votes, while Kirti Azad managed only 777 votes out of the total 2,413 votes, as revealed during counting on Tuesday, 17 December. Kirti Azad, a member of India's 1983 World Cup-winning team and a Trinamool Congress MP, was expected to offer a strong challenge to Rohan Jaitley. Azad also alleged that the DDCA spent as much as Rs 17.5 crore to install floodlights, whereas the significantly larger Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad completed similar work for Rs 7.5 crore.
