Stand at Eden Gardens named after Jhulan Goswami: 'It will motivate young cricketers'
India TodayTo pay tribute to and honour the incredible achievements of war hero Colonel NJ Nair and Indian cricket legend Jhulan Goswami, the Cricket Association of Bengal announced on Tuesday the decision to rename the spectator stands at the iconic Eden Gardens. Jhulan Goswami concluded her international career with 44 wickets in 12 Tests, a world-record 255 wickets in 204 ODIs, and 56 dismissals in 68 T20Is. Former BCCI and CAB President Sourav Ganguly, who was also present for the occasion, said, "Today is a special moment as we rename stands after two great individuals, Col N.J. Nair and Jhulan. Also present for the occasion were CAB Honorary Secretary Naresh Ojha, CAB Vice President Amalendu Biswas, CAB Treasurer Prabir Chakrabarty, CAB Honorary Joint Secretary Debabrata Das, along with other CAB officials and members.
