RGGGH gets RFA machine for treating chronic pain

The Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital has got a Radio Frequency Ablation machine for pain relief procedures for patients diagnosed with cancer and chronic pain management. Justice S.S. Sundar, Madras High Court, Chennai, and D. Lingeswaran, Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamil Nadu, through the AG and OT donated ₹42,00,000 to procure the RFA machine for the hospital towards upgrading the pain relief procedures for cancer pain and chronic pain management, according to a press release. The chronic pain management clinic of Institute of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, RGGGH, has been treating severe chronic pain since 2013. The Minister said that the procedure, which costs around ₹50,000 to ₹1,00,000 in the private sector, will be provided free of cost at the chronic pain management centre of RGGGH.
