Kunal Kamra summoned again in joke row, cops reject request for more time
The Khar Police Station in Mumbai has issued a second summons to comedian Kunal Kamra in connection with his controversial remarks at Mumbai's Habitat Centre last week and has asked him to appear for questioning. Earlier, the Mumbai Police had summoned the comedian and asked him to appear on Tuesday at 11 am, days after his ‘traitor’ jibe at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde sparked a widespread controversy. The summons was issued by the Mumbai Police after an FIR was filed against Kamra based on a complaint filed by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel at the Khar Police station. Soon after Kamra's subtle dig at Shinde went viral, angry Shiv Sena workers vandalised the Habitat Centre, where his show was held last week, as a sign of protest.
