Robert Jenrick: Albanians should be barred from claiming asylum in the UK

Mr Jenrick also foreshadowed “very serious reform” of the immigration system with a bill overhauling the law in the New Year. UK not a 'soft touch' “Our whole immigration system was created after the Second World War in an entirely different era. Today is a totally different world where an Albanian can get a flight from Tirana to Brussels, get a bus to Calais and then pay a few thousand pounds to get across the Channel.” He said the new system would have “deterrence suffused” through it so “you should not get a route to life in the UK if you come here illegally.
