Veteran Bengali actor Dipankar De joins TMC in Kolkata

Veteran Bengali actor Dipankar De on Friday joined Trinamool Congress in the presence of party leader and fellow actor Bratya Basu. Dipankar De, who started his film career with Satyajit Ray's Seemabaddha, has been an extremely vocal supporter of West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. De was a known face in an array of films made by Satyajit Ray including Jana Aranya, Ganashatru, Shakha Proshakha and Agantuk. The day saw other Bengali television actors including Bharat Kaul, a popular TV actor, and Lovely Mitra join the party as well.
