M.B. Rajesh reiterates transparency in process for establishing brewery in Palakkad
Refuting Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan’s allegations that the Excise department did not consult with other departments regarding the proposal for establishing a liquor manufacturing unit in Palakkad, Excise Minister M.B. Rajesh said that the project was cleared after a transparent and stringent process that extended over fourteen months after the company’s application. After Oasis Commercial Private Ltd. submitted the application for the venture to the Excise Circle Inspector on November 30, 2023, it went through ten levels of checks spread out over fourteen months, after which the preliminary sanction was accorded. He said that the Cabinet note which Mr. Satheesan released earlier in the day has been publicly available in the government website as part of its measures towards transparency.
