ACL injury happens more often in women—and how we remedy that

Tegan Taylor: We know that for some conditions like heart disease, women are more likely to have a worse time than men. Tegan Taylor: Two weeks of hobbling around later, a physiotherapist in Marina's office spotted what she had missed, or hadn't wanted to know about. Tegan Taylor: We don't actually know how many ACL injuries there are in Australia each year because it's not well tracked. Tegan Taylor: It's not just about girls losing interest in sport though, it's also about access and investment. Tegan Taylor: The idea that women are four, six, ten times more likely to get injured like this because of cultural reasons is frustrating, to say the absolute least.
