Maninder Singh, Nayan Mongia among prominent names applying for BCCI selectors' posts

Firstpost

Besides former left-arm spinner Maninder and wicketkeeper Mongia, ex-opener Shiv Sunder Das is also believed to have applied for the senior selection committee following the ouster of the Chetan Sharma-led committee. New Delhi: Former left-arm spinner Maninder Singh, wicketkeeper Nayan Mongia and opener Shiv Sunder Das were the three prominent names to have applied for senior national selectors’ posts with experience of playing more than 20 Tests for India. Sources in the know confirmed that Das, who is currently senior Punjab team’s batting coach, has applied and with East Zone barely producing Test players of repute, he stands a very good chance to become a selector. From North zone, apart from Maninder, Atul Wassan, Nikhil Chopra, Ajay Ratra, Reetinder Singh Sodhi and Gursharan Singh are former India players who have thrown their hat into the ring.
