French violinist presents Beijing audience with classical sonatas

China Daily

BEIJING -- French violinist Renaud Capucon on Sunday night delighted the Chinese audience with classical French sonatas at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. The last stop of Capucon's China tour, Sunday's performance saw him performing three classical pieces, namely Violin Sonata in G Minor by Claude Debussy, Violin Sonata No. The violinist then surprised the audience with an encore of five pieces including Debussy's Clair de Lune. The festival brings performances of musicians from home and abroad, including Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, who performed the complete collection of 32 Beethoven piano sonatas.
