Georgia offensive depth chart projection: Pieces in place for another productive attack
New York TimesATHENS, Ga. — Let the record show that 2023 was the year Georgia football under Kirby Smart truly established itself as a power on offense. So were a few other key pieces — Darnell Washington, Broderick Jones — and yet with a new coordinator and new quarterback the Bulldogs are set to finish: Fourth nationally in yards per play for the third straight year Fifth nationally in total yards per game Fifth nationally in scoring offense And if you want to say it all coincided with Brock Bowers, well, the team still scored 104 points in the three full games he missed. But in a year where Georgia’s defense wasn’t as good as expected, the team was in the position it was — unbeaten — in large part because of Bobo and its offense. Given all that, here’s what the Georgia offensive depth chart looks like at this point: Quarterback Starter: Carson Beck, R-Sr. Backups: Gunner Stockton, R-So. Departures: Ladd McConkey, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Jackson Meeks, Zeed Haynes, CJ Smith, De’Nylon Morrissette Counting the tight ends, Georgia right now is returning only 47 percent of its receiving yards, which history had shown to be indicative of overall offensive production.
