Provocative WhatsApp texts sent to flare Jahangirpuri riots: Delhi Police chargesheet
India TodayThe key conspirators of the Jahangirpuri riots received provocative speeches for use as tools to instigate violence during Hanuman Jayanti in April this year, the Delhi Police said in its chargesheet filed on Thursday. The Delhi Police corroborated the contents of these WhatsApp chats from the statements of other accused and found that these chats were used to instigate rioters to cause violence during the Hanuman Jayanti Yatra. Of the 37 accused named in the chargesheet, the Delhi Police has named four people as key conspirators in the riots Ishrafil, who is still missing, Tabrez, Ansar, and Salim Chikna. JAHANGIRPURI RIOTS Clashes broke out during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area in April, injuring eight policemen and a civilian.
