Second Desam MP defects to Jagan Reddy’s party in less than a week
Hyderabad: Just four days after a Telugu Desam Party MP joined the main opposition YSR Congress Party, P. Ravindra Babu, TDP MP from the Amalapuram Lok Sabha seat, also quit and joined the Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP on Monday. TDP leaders who did not want to be named said that Babu quit as he learned that he would not be given the Lok Sabha ticket again in the coming polls. The only concern the TDP has, he pointed out, was if senior TDP leader Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy joins the YSRCP, given the fact that he is financially strong and also influential. On Monday, Ravindra Babu in a press statement said TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu failed to get “anything from the Centre” and that the state will not prosper till Naidu is heading it.
