Lalu Prasad Yadav, president of Rashtriya Janata Dal, underwent a successful kidney transplant procedure in Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital. As per updates from the family, the surgery was successful and Bihar deputy chief minister and son of Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav also posted a tweet expressing gratitude to Rohini Acharya. Dr Salil Jain, Director and HOD, Nephrology & Renal Transplant of Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram told Hindustan Times, “Chronic kidney disease has become an epidemic and we are seeing a large number of patients requiring dialysis. The best treatment option for such patients is kidney transplantation.” Patients and family members must be careful and keep in mind the dos and don’ts that have to be followed post-transplant.
