"It is not just about crude oil and LNG, with the US emerging as an important energy exporter for India, it ensures prices remain low and stable at a time of great geopolitical disruptions," a government source told India Today TV. TRADE Sources have confirmed to India Today TV that both sides were ready with a "small package" ahead of the visit but the Trump administration wants a "big trade deal". A senior US administration official said on Friday, "The trade and economic relationship with India is critically important to the United States and I think also access to the United States market is critical to the Indian government.
