NIA teams search premises of PFI activists
Deccan ChronicleNellore/Anantapur: Teams of the National Investigation Agency conducted searches on the houses of Popular Front of India activists at Buchireddypalem in SPSR Nellore district as also in Kadapa, Nandyal, Kurnool and Guntur districts on Sunday. According to sources in police, Iliyaz underwent training organised by the PFI in Nizamabad sometime back and NIA booked a case against him under unlawful activities prevention act. Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary Vishnuvardhan Reddy welcomed the searches by NIA while condemning the activities of PFI and the Social Democratic Party of India in Andhra Pradesh. “Even the opposition parties failed to condemn the act of BJP in terrorising innocent Muslim youths who are doing service to the society through the PFI,” they alleged and said they would move court against acts of intimidation of innocent Muslim youths through police raids.
