
BDU holds two-day conference
The HinduKey challenges and opportunities in achieving Sustainable Development Goals related to water, sanitation, and hygiene were the focus of a two-day conference hosted by Bharathidasan University this week. S. Ganapathy Venkatasubramanian, former vice-chairman, State-Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Tamil Nadu, emphasised the need for collaborative efforts between academia, policymakers, and industries to address pressing water-related challenges and enhance sustainability. K. Shivachithappa, vice-chancellor, Mandya University; Kosga Yagappa Raj, faculty of Finance and Business Management, Putra International College, Malaysia, and Jose Prabhu Joseph John, professor, Business Management and IT, Florida Christian University, US, spoke on global best practices in the sector. The book titled ‘Power Sector Performance and Energy Mix in India’ authored by L. Ganesan, professor and chair, School of Social Sciences, Department of Economics, BDU and his student, B. Neppolian, was released by R. Karpaga Kumaravel, former vice-chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University and Central University of Tamil Nadu.
