MDMK to remain in DMK front as need of the hour is to prevent fascist elements from surfacing in Tamil Nadu, says Durai Vaiko
The need of the hour was to prevent fascist elements, which were attempting to surface in Tamil Nadu. With this objective, the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam would continue to remain in the DMK front, said MDMK principal secretary Durai Vaiko here on Saturday. A majority of students from Tamil Nadu went overseas, including Europe and the USA, and positioned themselves in plum jobs, while States such as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where the three-language formula was in vogue, the youth came to States such as Tamil Nadu seeking jobs. Tamil Nadu was known as a ‘peaceful park’ and the secular forces would ensure that people from all walks of life lived together. When a scribe pointed out the remark of BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan, who had commented that Tamil Nadu may have to be named as POCSO capital as the rate of sexual crimes had increased manifold, he suggested that Mr. Radhakrishnan visit some of the BJP-ruled States such as Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and ascertain the crimes against women.
