"The Meghalaya pineapples are famous for their high sugar content, and they are less sour," he reportedly said. Speaking to IndiaToday.in, M Dkhar, deputy director, Agriculture Department, said pineapple farmers in Meghalaya still cultivate the fruit using old-fashioned and natural methods without artificial fertilisers or insecticides.
