Why RPF's celebration of constable with baby is earning it wrath
India TodayWhether it's Mumbaikars braving packed local trains after terror attacks or Chennaites wading through waist-deep floods to reach work, both are labelled resilience. A day after the fatal stampede, a video of a female RPF constable managing the crowd at New Delhi Railway Station while carrying her one-year-old son in a baby kangaroo pack, was posted online by the railway force. A lady constable, balancing her one-year-old child in one arm and a laathi in the other, standing amidst a chaotic railway platform, with a sea of people pushing past, train horns blaring, locomotives blaring and high-tension wires looming overhead?, several people have raised the question. Akshat Bajpai, Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court, told PTI, "It is unfortunate that the RPF personnel had to carry her one-year-old child along with her on active duty, particularly in light of the crowded situation on railway platforms currently". "It is not clear if the RPF provides crèche facilities for its personnel but if it doesn't, it must comply with the law," Supreme Court advocate Akshat Bajpai told PTI.
