Rajiv Chowk station reopens; Jama Masjid metro services still closed
India TV NewsThe Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Friday shut a number of metro stations amid ongoing protests at Jama Masjid and other areas in the national capital. Metro stations including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Jama Masjid, Lal Quila, Jamia Millia Islamia were shut to avoid any violence. Thousands of people gathered near Jama Masjid on Friday, shouting slogans and holding placards voicing their anguish against the citizenship law amidst heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces. Delhi metro stations closed on December 20: Central Secretariat Chawri Bazar Chandni Chowk Rajiv Chowk Delhi Gate Lal Quila Khan Market Janpath Pragati Maidan Mandi House Jamia Millia Islamia Shiv Vihar Johri Enclave Jafrabad Maujpur-Babarpur Jama Masjid metro stations have not been reopened yet.
