Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk closes border to Adelaide after coronavirus hotspot outbreak
ABCPremier Annastacia Palaszczuk says Queensland will close the border to Adelaide as of midnight tonight after the city was declared a coronavirus hotspot. Queensland Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said earlier today that anyone who arrived in Queensland before the midnight deadline, and had been in Adelaide for the past week, would be required to go into 14 days of self-isolation. Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young says anyone arriving from Adelaide must quarantine and get tested immediately. Dr Young said she was asking those people to "immediately come forward, get themselves tested and go into quarantine wherever they are". Brisbane Lord Mayor self-isolating Brisbane's Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said he would be tested for coronavirus and spend 14 days in self-isolation after returning from Adelaide and seeking advice from Queensland's Chief Health Officer.
