Super Typhoon Yagi kills at least 21 people in Vietnam as officials warn of ongoing flooding risk

Vietnamese officials described Typhoon Yagi as one of the most powerful typhoons to hit the region over the last decade "We found the six bodies, including a one-year-old boy and a newborn, in the landslide," a local official from the Sapa people's committee, who asked not to be named, told AFP. Described by Vietnamese officials as one of the most powerful typhoons to hit the region over the last decade, Yagi left more than three million people without electricity in northern Vietnam. The typhoon made landfall in Vietnam's northern coastal provinces of Quang Ninh and Haiphong with wind speeds of up to 149 kilometres per hour on Saturday afternoon.
