Will complete HNSS project by next kharif: Andhra Water Resources Minister

Minister for Water Resources Nimmala Rama Naidu on Wednesday said the NDA government will complete the construction of the main canals of Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project in Rayalaseema by next kharif. Addressing a videoconference on the progress of the HNSS-Chitravathi Balancing Reservoir link channel work, Mr. Rama Naidu said the farmers in the dry Rayalaseema region suffered a lot because the the previous YSRCP regime neglected irrigation projects. He said the NDA government resumed the HNSS work soon after its formation and set aside an amount of ₹2,629 crore for it. He told the officials to submit a comprehensive report on the works under way so he could apprise Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of the same and take steps for expediting the projects.
