Oxenford, Gold Coast: Horror as three-year-old girl is left in coma after falling into pool during a party while adults watched other children

A three-year-old girl is battling for life in a coma after she nearly drowned at a children's party. The toddler is currently clinging to life at the Gold Coast University Hospital after the incident at a home at Oxenford on the northern end of the Gold Coast on Sunday. Police allege a pool gate was left open which allowed the three-year-old to enter the pool area while adults were supervising other children on a jumping castle, reported the Gold Coast Bulletin. 'The information that we've got to date is that there was a party there with several children and adults in attendance,' Acting Superintendent Scott Knowles from Gold Coast police told the newspaper. The toddler is currently clinging to life at the Gold Coast University Hospital after the incident at a home at Oxenford on the northern end of the Gold Coast on Sunday 'Whilst they were distracted at a nearby jumping castle – the adults and the other kids – the three-year-old has entered the pool area.
