Bulls rookie Ayo Dosunmu doesn’t back down from anyone: ‘It’s impressive as hell’

New York Times

Between consecutive games against Atlanta, Ayo Dosunmu described his first experience defending Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young. I just feel like he’s a dog just like myself, and I can’t do nothing but respect Ayo.” Dosunmu and Green drew the defensive assignment against Young both Monday and Wednesday. “No matter how much you watch people play, it’s different to get out there and compete against them,” Dosunmu said. “Now it’s just about competing and my competitive nature.” Pick-pocketing Young was only Dosunmu’s best play. “So me coming back, I wanted to focus on trying to just get out and run, get some easy ones, see the ball go in and just play hard.” With the Bulls still down five players to the league’s health and safety protocols, as well as another two to injury, Dosunmu has taken on the Bulls’ sixth-man role by default.
