India TodayA day after 14 civilians were killed in a firing incident in Nagaland's Mon district, the govt formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the incident that took place on Saturday evening. An official order has been issued by the state home department and signed by Chief Secretary J Alam said that there were firing incidents on December 4, 2021 in an area between Tiru and Oting village involving security forces in which many civilians were killed and several others injured. Naga Students Federation in a statement called for ban in all Naga inhabited areas on December 6 starting from 6 AM to 12 noon in solidarity with "our Konyak brothers killed by the Indian Army at Oting Village under Mon District, Nagaland". DETAILS OF THE FIRING INCIDENT AT MON DISTRICT THAT KILLED 14 CIVILIANS AND ONE ARMY PERSONNEL According to an official, a group of daily-wage labourers from Oting village were returning home from a coal mine in a pick-up van when they were allegedly shot at by security forces.
