India has every reason to be proud: Shahana Goswami on Santosh's Oscars shortlist

India Today

Actor Shahana Goswami's film Santosh is one step away from receiving a nomination in the International Feature Film category at the 97th Oscars. Though it is the UK's official entry to the Oscars, the actor feels Indians have reason to celebrate as the film is deeply rooted in India and created by a "huge Indian team." Regardless of its international roots, Shahana emphasised that the film, created by an Indian team and featuring Indian actors in lead roles, should be celebrated in India. Meanwhile, Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies, failed to secure a spot on the shortlist for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards.
