Mysuru’s Vishwa Manava Double Road features cycle track declared ‘No parking’
The HinduA 300-metre stretch of Vishwa Manava Double Road from Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Circle, also known as Andolana Circle, to KEB junction featuring cycle tracks on both sides of the road has been declared as a ‘No parking’ area. An order to this effect was issued by Mysuru City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar on Saturday, January 18, under the various provisions of the Indian Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, and the Karnataka Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. It comes after the Inspector of Krishnaraja traffic police station made a recommendation because of the presence of several hotels, temples, garages, and commercial shops on the road that also feature cycle tracks on both sides of the road. The police pointed out that customers visiting the cafes, garages, and other commercial outlets on the road park their vehicles in the area earmarked for the cycle track, posing a hindrance to the cyclists as well as to the smooth flow of traffic.
