AP celebrates National Science Day all over state

Vijayawada: Universities and educational institutions within Andhra Pradesh celebrated the National Science Day on Tuesday with emphasis on scientific temper and technological development in the country. AIIMS Mangalagiri director Mukesh Tripathi inaugurated the day at SRM University-AP, pointing out that National Science Day is celebrated annually throughout India on February 28 in honour of Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman, who received the Nobel Prize in 1930 for his discovery – Raman Effect. “Global Science for Global Wellbeing is the theme for this year’s National Science Day,” Dr. Tripathi underlined while emphasising that research should be applied for advancement of humankind. VIT-AP University displays scientific exhibits School of Advanced Sciences and Innovation of VIT-AP University organised a programme on the occasion in which Padmasri B.V.R.
