Read our privacy policy Barack Obama has shared his latest summer reading list, recommending novelists including Hilary Mantel, Colson Whitehead and Toni Morrison, who died last week. He wrote: “I wanted to let you know about a few books I’ve been reading this summer, in case you’re looking for some suggestions.” He began by recommending the works of Toni Morrison, who died last week aged 88 and whom he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.
