IPS officer Sujith Das, who has been reinstated into the service after being suspended for criticising Additional Director General of Police M.R. In a reshuffle effected by the State here on Tuesday, Merin Joseph, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Thiruvananthapuram, has been transferred and posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police. To facilitate the transfer and appointments, an ex cadre post of Controller, Legal Metrology, has been created for a period of one year with effect from Tuesday, and this post is declared equivalent in status and responsibility to the cadre post of Assistant Inspector General of Police under Rule 12 of the Indian Police Service Rules, 2016. Similarly, an ex cadre post of Additional Excise Commissioner is created for a period of one year with effect from Tuesday, and this post is declared equivalent in status and responsibility to the cadre post of Assistant Inspector General of Police under Rule 12 of Indian Police Service Rules, 2016.
